Glendwind Aerwindale

Young Ishgardian Lord

Legitimized bastard son of Lord Avareth Aerwindale - the head of the one of the small houses of Ishgard - is in his late twenties. Golden hair framing fine features of the face, a pair of piercing teal eyes, lips often curved in faint half-smile. Of short and fragile frame, he walks with grace, moving smoothly, almost dreamingly.Born and living in Coerthas till age of 10, he stepped into Ishgard as an outsider, accepted by his father, and was admitted to Scholasticate, where he dedicated himself to studies, perhaps trying to prove his worth. Brilliant student, he was allowed to study most advanced of magicks and everyone expected of him to join clergy. But one day he simply left it all behind and joined Convictors. His service there did not last long and ended tragically: suffered from severe wounds, he spent several years in solitude of his family house, recovering, remaining blind and deaf to the world outside the mansion wall and barely registering the grand changes in his beloved City.Only year ago something changed: he packed his belongings and stepped out of Ishgard, in pursue of the goal known only to himself. He spent some time travelling, meeting people and finding new meaning in his life. Now he is back to the Holy See, full of ambitions and ideas of how to participate in changes that happen in modern Ishgard.Personality:Formalities and etiquette is his shield. Appropriate distance is mandatory. Walls between people he sees as something natural. He won't speak of himself, he won't pour his heart out on you. (Oh, unless you're another highborn Ishgardian of higher status, or respected knight veteran, then he will obey the game of statuses) But he'll listen, and help.Glendwind is a combination of gentle, caring heart and strict formal upbringing. It takes time for him to get close to people, and even with closest of them he remains always somewhat collected and formal. Rarely, though, but he allows himself to lash out, showing an attitude: he is set in some ways and some views and takes a great pride in his Ishgardian heritage and does not take it lightly when outsiders judge the city and its ways.

Hooks and Trivia

Broken engagement: Glendwind was engaged to Lady Norielle Cieteaux. This arranged marriage was considered by some a mésalliance, though those who know the pair found the union excellent. And yet, after almost a year of being engaged, the couple had their wedding cancelled a mere week before the event itself, decision made by heads of two families.Saint Endalim's Scholasticate: one of the most gifted and hard-working students in his time.Convictor Knights: short period of time by the end of Dragonsong War. He formed strong bonds with one of the lancers he failed to protect later. According to rumors, said fallen knight was his childhood friend. And maybe a lover!Magic: his specialty is "granting succor and shielding by evoking a spell from scripture in his grimoire". In other words, Ishgardian version of arcanima. (1) Currently, he is being instructed in the art of Crimson Duelists.Fine arts: Glendwind is a passionate draftsman. Graphite stick and paper are his best friends since his early childhood. In his sketchbook you can find expressive sketches: portraits, figures in action, even some landscapes (usually featuring buildings)Books: the tomes of all sizes and looks were other friends accompanying him from early years.Fleming: an Ishgardian battle Chocobo. Outside of Ishgard he carries plumage of abysmal yellow hue, clearly result of glamour magic.
Glendwind and Fleming are attached to each other in most gentle manner.
Greystone: Glendwind was born out of wedlock. Not much known of his mother aside the fact she was an outsider. She died in childbirth and not a single portrait remains."The Scholar's Virtue": this private library situated in Foundation is the place where Glendwind can often been found. It is his property and his project he cares about very much._____
(1) - I realise I am using loopholes of the lore, based on multiple quest texts mentioning grimoires, casting from them and "summoning entities".

OOC Info and Contacts

Experienced roleplayer, started back in World of Warcraft and continued in Elder Scrolls Online. I adhere to universal roleplay etiquette: acknowledge others, separate IC and OOC, show respect and courtesy to players, help involving and engaging others. Roleplay is a storytelling for me, I enjoy long slow plots where my character can develop all kind of connections, get into all kind of situations and progress through it.I am rather demanding to the quality of RP but I am no way an elitist. New to RP? Want to learn? I'll gladly help! But if your roleplay is all about "claiming" pretty characters, plain self-insert or how great your character is, I am not interested.Glendwind Aerwindale is my recurring character, he began his existence in World of Warcraft, then his 'copy" was created in Elder Scrolls Online. Same core personality, similar background stories, different details, adjusted to the setting.
